Theatre Arts is hosting auditions for two plays: Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812 and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot.
Audition Information for Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812

The auditions are happening August 26 or August 27 at 7 p.m., with callbacks August 29 and possibly August 30 at 7 p.m. in the Campus Theater.
- Be prepared with 16 bars of a classical/musical theatre style song (an accompanist will be provided) and bring clothes to move in for the dance audition later in the evening. Headshots/resumes not required, but encouraged. Actors who play instruments strongly encouraged to audition.
- No experience needed. High school students are allowed to audition as well.
- Rehearsal times: Monday through Thursday, evenings, time TBA.
- Performance Dates: October 11, 12, 18, 19 at 7 p.m. and October 13, 20 at 4 p.m. in the Campus Theater.
- If cast, you will be required to register as a student at Cypress College and enroll in a Musical Theatre Performance class as well as sign up to work on crew for a separate production.

Synopsis: The Great Comet is a Electro-pop opera that is entirely sung through and based on a section of the classic novel, War and Peace. The story involves young and impulsive, Natasha Rostova, who arrives in Moscow to await the return of her fiancé from the front lines. When she falls under the spell of the roguish Anatole, it is up to Pierre, a family friend in the middle of an existential crisis, to pick up the pieces of her shattered reputation.

- Please prepare a 1-minute contemporary monologue.
- Rehearsal Times: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 3 – 6 p.m.
- Performance Dates: November 1, 2, 8, 9 at 7 p.m. and November 3, 10 at 4 p.m. in the Studio Theater
- If cast, you will be required to register as a student at Cypress College for a Rehearsal/Performance course, and sign up to work on crew for a separate production.

Synopsis: The Last Days of Judas Iscariot tells the story of a court case over the ultimate fate of Judas Iscariot. The play uses flashbacks to an imagined childhood and lawyers who call for the testimonies of such witnesses as Mother Teresa, Caiaphas, Saint Monica, Sigmund Freud, and Satan.
