Elders – Arnoldo Vargas Exhibition
The intent of the exhibit is to give image and voice to elders in contemporary society. At a time when elders are under attack it is imperative to honor those who have laid the foundation that we stand on today. The opening reception is February 25 and the exhibition closes April 16. This free exhibition takes place in the Edouard de Merlier Gallery.

Answering the call to make art in tumultuous times, the works in this exhibition are by artists who are also art therapists. Using diverse media and processes, they engage creativity as a source and an expression of resilience in the face of potentially overwhelming change and uncertainty. Mila Gokhman creates abstract and floral collages of cut and pasted papers and leather that pulsate with life, joy, and movement. Born in Kyiv in 1934, the artist and designer moved to Southern California in 2000.
