Cypress College Annual APIA Scholarship
Asian Pacific Islander Faculty Staff Association (APIA) seeks to recognize outstanding students who exemplify the spirit of APIA by achieving academic excellence and demonstrating personal commitment and dedicated service to their community. Sober Scholars is a safe space where students can come together and experience sobriety. We promote healthy, constructive, and respectful relationships on campus. This weekly meeting is open to students at large at Cypress College. It is our intention to provide this community-building weekly space to provide students with a voice. Brittany Morton and The Breaking Bars Community Network (many of whom are from Homeboy Industries) have extensively researched, compiled, and organized information and resources for community college faculty and staff to utilize when working with formerly incarcerated students. This training will enable participants to provide equity-minded and culturally competent services to this student population on Cypress College's campus.
