Giovanna Charleston

I love dentistry! I have been an RDA since 1981, and I can honestly say that my experience in this field has been a truly gratifying one. My career began in one of the best offices (ok, possibly biased) in Orange County, where I was challenged, where I gained experience, and where I had the opportunity to develop wonderful, lifelong relationships.

I began teaching over 15 years ago for a private, post-secondary, educational sector. That led to an opportunity for teaching at a local Regional Occupational Program, where I still work today. In 2008, I began teaching for Cypress College’s distinguished Dental Assisting Program where we are devoted to providing students with the highest quality of education.

My credentials, in addition to my RDA license, include a Subjects Teaching Credential, CDA Certificate, AHA/CPR Instructor Certificate, and a Bachelor of Vocational Education. The courses I teach for the fall semester are Preventive Dental Health and Chairside I, and in the spring I teach Dental Office Procedures, Dental Specialties (lab), and Clinical Radiology.

The technological advances in dentistry since the time I began in the field continue to amaze and astound me. Orange County Register has listed the dental field as one of the top 20 jobs of the future. The demand for dentistry remains consistent since I began in the early eighties, and has continued evolving as an exciting and varied field. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you in this ever progressing field!
