Timely Warning: Sexual Battery Suspect Arrested

A Cypress College student reported on Thursday, May 14, 2015, that she was touched inappropriately by a past acquaintance with whom she agreed to meet on-campus late Wednesday afternoon. The suspect subsequently coerced the victim into a restroom where he physically restrained her and proceeded to grab her groin, she said. Cypress Police investigated the crime as a case of sexual battery. On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, members of the Cypress Police Department arrested a suspect.

Cypress College is alerting the campus community to the report because the information may be helpful to students and employees in caring for their personal safety. The alleged sexual battery took place in a campus restroom on Wednesday afternoon. The suspect is not a Cypress College student, the victim told police.
