A female student reported today that last month she was forced into a vehicle and driven off campus where she was sexually assaulted. The student described the suspect’s vehicle as yellow and black. Review of video shows a car matching that description around the time that the student stated the incident took place.

The student reported the incident — which she said took place shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday, August 31 — to her instructor this afternoon and Cypress College Campus Safety was notified as a result. Campus Safety contacted the Cypress Police Department, who responded to investigate.

The vehicle in the video appears to be a Ford Crown Victoria model with a yellow body, black trim on the bottom, and black rims.

A male — described by the student as wearing a blue and white striped, polo-style shirt, and blue denim shorts — grabbed her by the arm as she walked near the campus drop-off area near the main Valley View entrance. She reported that he forced her into the back seat of the car.  He was approximately 5-feet-7 inches tall, with a skinny build, bald, and dark brown eyes, according to her description.

Following the alleged assault, the student was driven back near the campus and released by the suspect in a construction area behind the Home Depot on Lincoln Avenue.

Campus Safety and Cypress Police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information about the incident or about the suspect should contact Campus Safety at (714) 484-7387. Imminent threats should be reported to 911.

Students and employees are reminded to report incidents or suspicious behavior to Campus Safety and/or Cypress Police immediately. Additionally, students are reminded that Campus Safety can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (714) 484-7387, and that it is important to program that number into their mobile phones for quick access.
