UPDATED — Timely Warning: Student Reports Cab Driver Inappropriately Touched Her

Update: At 6:45 p.m. on January 8, the Cypress Police Department informed Cypress College that an arrest has been made in this case.

A student of the North Orange County Community College District School of Continuing Education (SCE), located at Cypress College, reported that a taxi cab driver who had brought her to campus touched her inappropriately.

The student immediately reported the incident to SCE and Cypress College Campus Safety as well as to the Cypress Police Department. She said the incident took place in Parking Lot #4 at about 8 a.m. today as she was paying the cab driver. She reported that the man grabbed her breast from outside the clothes and asked her to kiss him. The driver was described as middle eastern, 6’-4”, 200 LBS, approximately 52 years old.

This incident is now under the investigation of the Cypress Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 229-6631. While this is believed to be an isolated incident, anyone who believes they are a victim of a similar crime should immediately contact Campus Safety or the Cypress Police Department.

Students and employees are reminded to report incidents or suspicious behavior to Campus Safety and/or Cypress Police immediately.
