UPDATED FEB. 21, 1:05 PM

UPDATE: Members of the Cypress Police Department have completed their inspection of Cypress College’s Tech Ed 2 Building and determined that no threat exists. The building will re-open for students at 4 p.m. and classes will resume after that time. Classes in the building include Cypress College physical education and athletics courses as well as classes offered by the School of Continuing Education. Employees may re-enter the building at this time. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation during the evacuation.

The Cypress College Tech Ed 2 building has been evacuated to evaluate a specific threat to the area. A College employee discovered a note this morning in the men’s locker room located in Tech Ed 2 specifying a threat to that building.

Officers from the Cypress Police Department and Campus Safety are conducting a sweep of the building. We anticipate Tech Ed 2 will be closed until 4 p.m. No other areas of campus are affected. Further notice regarding evening classes scheduled in Tech Ed 2 will be sent once we have more information.

Students and employees are reminded to report incidents or suspicious behavior to Campus Safety and/or Cypress Police immediately. Additionally, students are reminded that Campus Safety can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (714) 484-7387, and that it is important to program that number into their mobile phones for quick access.
