Welcome to the Spring Semester!

Happy first day of the semester! New semesters might bring new questions, so we’ve put together a list of tips, services, and frequently asked questions to help guide you through these first few weeks. Visit Spring Semester Central, or click on the links below to find helpful information.


Charger Book Pass: $100 for All Your Textbook-Related Course Materials & How to Access Them

Pay a maximum of $100 for all your textbook-related course materials this semester with the Charger Book Pass! If you’re registered for one or more classes at Cypress College, you’re automatically opted into the program.

Opt Out of the Charger Book Pass by February 18

If the Charger Book Pass isn’t for you, watch the “How to Opt Out” video, then access the Opt-Out Portal to opt out of the program by February 18.

How to Access Your Course Materials

Many course materials in the Charger Book Pass are eBooks directly available in Canvas for your courses. Watch the video for a step-by-step look at accessing your books digitally. Information for finding access codes is available on the Charger Book Pass page.

Some courses may still have print course materials. You will receive an email from the Campus Bookstore when they are ready for pickup. They may also be shipped to you for an additional fee.

Important Details for the Charger Food Pass

The Charger Food Pass provides all spring-enrolled students with $12 to purchase meals, drinks, and snacks at the Charger Cafe Monday-Friday during the semester (excluding holidays when campus is closed and spring recess).

Pick up your free student ID on the first floor of the Student Center. This card will double as your Charger Food Pass to use each day throughout the semester.

You must present your new student ID to use as your Charger Food Pass. ID cards received prior to January 2025 will not work.

Once you have your card in hand, use it to purchase up to $12 in meals, drinks, and snacks at the Charger Cafe. If spending more than $12 in a single day, you will need to pay the difference with cash or credit card.

Charger Cafe Open Hours

  • Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Friday 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Apply to (STEM)2/MESA for Tailored Support in STEM Programs

Applications for the Cypress College (STEM)² Program and new MESA Program are due Friday, February 7, at 11:59 p.m. If you are interested in joining either of these programs that offer academic support, transfer guidance, and a sense of community designed to help you reach your goals in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, apply now!

Eligibility requirements for the two programs differ; however, you only need to submit one application for both programs. Benefits for the two programs are similar, but MESA students are also eligible to receive a stipend for undergraduate research opportunities through the program.

Program representatives will be providing in-class presentations during the first couple weeks of the semester. Interested in either program? Ask a question during a presentation or reach out to stem2@cypresscollege.edu.


Connect to Campus WiFi

Need help accessing the WiFi on campus? Here are instructions to get connected.

  1. Select the “Eduroam” WiFi network from your device’s list of available networks.
  2. Input your username and password.
    1. Username: your student ID and “@cypresscollege.edu” (e.g. 01234567@cypresscollege.edu)
    2. Password: Your myGateway password
  3. Set configurations on:
    1. Apple devices: when prompted, click “Trust” for the certificate.
    2. Android devices, set the following:
    3. EAP: PEAP
    4. CA Certificate: Don’t validate
  4. You should now be connected to the WiFi on campus!

Parking Registration and Permit Required for On-Campus Parking by 2/18

You must register your vehicle(s) and display a permit to access on-campus parking this semester. Each vehicle must be registered.

Enforcement of parking permits will be begin Tuesday, February 18. All other parking and traffic regulations will continue to be enforced throughout the district at all times.


People in Motion Dance Auditions This Wednesday!

The Cypress College Dance Department is auditioning for “People in Motion” 2024 (show dates May 23-25).

When: February 5 at 6 p.m.
Where: Theater Arts, Room 117

No dance experience needed! Wear comfortable workout clothes. Open to students, staff, and faculty.
