Foundation Scholarship Deadline Next Monday

The 2025 Foundation Scholarship Application closes next Monday, April 14, at 9 p.m. Each scholarship has unique criteria, but you only need to fill out this single application to be considered for all Foundation scholarships. Fill out the application carefully and completely to be considered.

Scholarship Workshop and Free Pizza This Week

On Wednesday, April 9, Peer Tutors will present a support session for Foundation scholarships applicants. The workshop takes place in HUM-217 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will feature free pizza.

Peer Tutors are just that: peers. They help select English 100, 101, and ESL 110 classes with the goal of assisting their fellow students. At this event, the Peer Tutors will encourage applicants as well as aid any short writing portions.

Financial Wellness Workshop

Got money on the mind? In addition to securing scholarships, getting a handle on your personal accounting can put you in a great position. The Financial Aid office will hold a Financial Wellness Workshops for students to get a handle on finances on Wednesday, April 23 in CCCPLX-313 from 3-4 p.m.

Yom HaShoah Thursday

Yom HaShoah is a day to remember those lost to the Holocaust and a chance to learn from those who survived. Attend to honor the resilience of the human spirit and keep its strength alive. The event takes place 7-8:30 p.m. in the Cypress College Theater. Click the button below for more details.

District AI Expo Next Week

Next week, April 16 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Cypress College will host a free NOCCCD event on artificial intelligence. AI Expo: Empowering Minds is open to faculty, staff, students, K-12 educators, and community members to explore how AI is revolutionizing education, careers, and industries. The event will feature interactive workshops, a prompt-a-thon, lunch and more.

Photo Exhibit: Make a Thing Every Day

Make A Thing Every Day by Ken Hada will be on display in the Edouard de Merlier Gallery, in TE-1 Second Floor, Bldg. 10, from now until April 18. The Gallery hours are: Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m; Friday: 10:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Art Exhibit: An Earth Twin at the Digital Dawn

Janet Owen Driggs curates this exhibit of Tom Van Sant’s Geosphere Project, which mapped out a model of Earth in the very early years of the tech revolution. It will be on view at the Cypress College Art Gallery until April 18, 2025, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and by appointment.

Career Fair April 22! Career Planning and Workforce Development Center Holding Workshops to Prepare

The Career Planning and Workforce Development Center will hold workshops this spring to prepare students for the job field. From April 14-17, 12-1 p.m. and 3-4 p.m., stop by the Career Center in CCCPLX-215 to get assistance with your resume and elevator pitch, and visit the Career Closet for your free professional attire. On Tuesday, April 22, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., come to the Career Fair to connect with local employers and job or internship opportunities. Plus, the first 200 students get a career swag bag.
