Foster Care Awareness Month
The month of May is Foster Care Awareness Month, and EOPS has invited students, faculty, and staff to celebrate and support Guardian Scholars and NextUp students at Cypress College. EOPS has planned a series of engaging events from now until May 15 to raise awareness, build community, and promote student success.

Budgeting and Saving Workshop with Poppy Bank

Impostor Syndrome: Uncover the Cause and Reclaim Your Confidence Workshop
Presented by Lizett Bobadilla. The first 50 attendees will receive a free copy of “Own Your Greatness.”

APIDA has planned several events for May, Asian Pacific Islander Desi Heritage Month. Highlights include the APIDA Graduation ceremony, where they will honor their outstanding student body.

VAPA Student Show
The Students’ Show, an annual exhibition by VAPA students, is now on display. The exhibition runs until May 22 and features costume, music, painting, sculpture, illustration, ceramics, animation, design, drawing, journalism, photography, print, and more.
Dance Department Presents: People In Motion

Cypress College’s Dance Department presents People in Motion, a dance concert directed by Maha Afra. People in Motion runs May 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. and May 25 at 4 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for general admission and $12 for seniors (55+), students, and children 12 and younger.

Rising Scholars Graduation
Celebrate the Rising Scholars community for demonstrating resilience, determination, and commitment to education. There will be certificates for everyone who RSVPs before Wednesday, May 14, a pizza-making station, and photobooth.

Free Pathway Sash Distribution
From now until May 23, free pathway sashes for graduates to keep and wear at commencement will be available for distribution. Head to Student Life & Leadership during regular business hours (Monday-Thursday at 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and let them know you’re there to pick up your pathway sash.
A limited number of caps and gowns are available as well at Student Life and Leadership. Pay for your cap and gown at the Bookstore before you go and bring your receipt with you.
