The Ursula Lowenbach Foster Holocaust Survivors Portrait Gallery at Cypress College contains more than 50 portraits of Holocaust survivors, photographed by Cypress College Photography Emeritus Professor, Clifford Lester.  The gallery is named in honor of Mr. Lester’s mother, herself a Holocaust survivor.

A gallery wall featuring framed photographs and description plaques honoring Holocaust survivors, with a sign above reading "Ursula Löwenbach Foster Holocaust Survivor Portrait Gallery."

Mr. Lester recorded the interviews he conducted with the survivors while he was photographing them.  Five of these interviews have now been turned into videos containing the actual words spoken by the survivors as they recalled their experiences and as they reflected on the messages they wanted to send to others.

The videos also contain factual historical information, photographs, and music related to the Holocaust.

While short (4-6 minutes), these videos are powerfully moving reminders of the impact of the Holocaust on these survivors and of the many victims who did not survive.
