I feel so excited about these certificates mainly because I worked very hard to finish ESL classes. It was very challenging since I did not have enough experiences using English in my life. I do not have high educational background yet, so finishing a college program in another country and being able to have these certificates on my resume will be amazing. These certificates are also kind of bonus for me because I needed to finish ESL classes anyway, and I can get more than one. I am proud of myself with what I have accomplished.
May 2024 Update:
After completing his ESL courses at Cypress College, Hiroki changed his major to Communication Studies after joining the Cypress Forensics team to work on his English; he even won first place at a tournament! He was selected as a 2021 Presidential Scholars of Distinction for the Language Arts division. Hiroki transferred to CSU Long Beach to complete his bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies.
