Purpose
Associated Students (AS) is the student government of Cypress College. AS offers students the opportunity to gain unique leadership skills as well as personal and professional development. Just as Cypress College is a leading, premiere community college in California, our student government strives to live up to the same level of distinction by upholding and advancing our institution’s core values of equity, excellence, collegiality, inclusiveness, and integrity. The council focus is also on representing and advocating for our fellow students on campus, regional and state levels. This is established by having student representatives serving on our college shared governance committees, having a student trustee representation, designated regional delegate and participation at the annual state level General Assembly.

Town Halls
Associated Students values the diverse perspectives of students at our institution, and actively listening to and understanding these perspectives better informs the Council what student needs merit increased attention. To better achieve this, AS intermittently hosts Town Halls throughout the academic year to solicit student feedback on a variety of topics related to Cypress College and the student body. The AS Council will take all feedback received into consideration when serving in all relevant representative capacities on behalf of the student body.
