Description/Purpose/ChargeThe purpose of the Accessibility Workgroup is to address and support institutional accessibility and compliance of information and communication technology as per Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
 
This workgroup meets only as needed.
Reporting Relationships  The Accessibility Workgroup is a subgroup of the DEIA Committee and shares information about technology access to the committee.
Decision-Making Authority  The Accessibility Workgroup has the authority to secure and host speakers, trainers and workshops related to campus accessibility.
 
The Accessibility Workgroup has the authority to recommend best practices to provide access.

Membership Process  Members with interest in accessibility may join the Workgroup.
Meeting Dates/Times  First Thursday of every month at 10 a.m.
Meeting ProceduresSince this is a workgroup, one of the co-chairs will convene a meeting. The meeting agenda is distributed prior to the meeting. The co-chair facilitates the meeting following the agenda and opens each agenda item for discussion.
Consensus Process, Decision-Making, and DocumentationThe committee discusses accessibility issues and solutions as appropriate. All workgroup members share ideas and suggestions and discuss ways to support electronic accessibility.
Communication and Distribution of MaterialsSince this is a small workgroup that does not meet on a regular basis, communication and distribution of materials is not regular. At times, the workgroup may send an email to share access tips or other helpful information.
