Become a Tutor
LRC tutors provide one-on-one tutoring in private offices for multiple subjects to Cypress College students in the Learning Resource Center. Tutors must possess excellent interpersonal skills equal to their knowledge of their subject areas.
All tutors experience professional and growth development by attending monthly trainings that have been certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), an international organization of learning assistance professionals. Tutors may receive tutor certification by the end of the semester as a Level 1: Certified Tutor or Level 2: Advanced Certified Tutor.
Starting pay rate for tutors is $14.00 per hour. Based on center needs, tutors may work up to 26 hours per week; with the exception of full-time students who may work up to 20 hours per week.
