Welcome to the Cypress College Online Parking Management System.

The Department of Campus Safety is responsible for parking enforcement on campus grounds, parking lots, and roadways. All vehicles parking on campus must display a valid parking permit and be registered on the Cypress College Online Parking Permit System.

A parking permit is required for all vehicles parking on campus Monday through Friday. Parking permits are not required on Saturdays and Sundays, unless specifically stated and posted as “Parking Permit Required” on a parking control device.

Student – Semester Parking Permits

Student parking permits will be issued by the Department of Campus Safety. Parking permits must be displayed on your vehicle windshield, lower section, driver side.

The cost for a semester parking permit is $40. Effective fall semester 2024, semester parking permits will be available to purchase during student registration.

Vehicle Registration

Vehicle registration is not required for the spring 2025 semester. Student Parking permits must be picked up at the Campus Safety Office.

All vehicles must display a current and valid parking permit decal.

Parking enforcement will begin on March 17, 2025.

Staff and Faculty Annual Parking Permits

Vehicle registration is not required for the 2024-2025 school year. All vehicles parked in staff parking spaces must display a current and valid faculty/staff parking permit. Staff and faculty parking permits must be picked up at the Campus Safety Office.


Parking Citations

On-campus parking enforcement is conducted by the Cypress College Department of Campus Safety. Parking citations are issued under the authority granted by the California Vehicle Code and Cypress College Parking Regulations.

  • All vehicles parking on Campus must display a current and valid parking permit. Failure to display a permit may result in a parking citation.
  • Failure to register your vehicle for a parking permit with Cypress College will result in a parking citation.
  • The fine for parking on campus without registering your vehicle for a parking permit is $37.

  • Please note, if you receive a parking citation, you must pay the fine or submit an appeal to contest the parking citation within 21 days from the date the citation was issued, or the fine will double.
  • A copy of the Cypress College Parking Regulations is available online and at Campus Safety Office.
  • Staff Parking, Disabled Parking, Fire Lane, Time Limit, and Head-in Parking regulations are ALWAYS enforced.
  • Overnight parking is not allowed on campus grounds, parking lots, or roadways.

Contest a Parking Citation

Anyone receiving a parking citation has the right to submit an appeal within 21 days of the date the citation was issued, or within 14 days from the mailing date of the “Notice of Parking Violation.”

Appeals may be completed online.

The registered owner of the vehicle is responsible for paying the parking citation and must bear the burden of proof when submitting an appeal contesting the parking citation. Notice of the decision will be mailed to you regardless of the outcome and further instructions given if necessary. Please note that each parking citation will have pictures to support the violation. The pictures are GPS stamped and will be entered in the Cypress College Parking Enforcement System as evidence to support the reason for issuing the parking citation.

One-Day Parking Permits

One-Day Parking permits may be purchased on the PayByPhone app or can also be purchased on-line using a computer. Signs with QR codes providing access to the PayByPhone app are available throughout campus. The PayByPhone app can also be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.

The cost of a one-day parking permit is $3 and is valid until 11:59 p.m. on the day of purchase. One-day parking permits allow one vehicle to park in any student marked parking space. One-day permits are assigned to individual vehicles and cannot be shared. Any vehicle found using a one-day that was issued to another vehicle will receive a parking citation.


EV Charging

EV charging fees and time limits encourage turnover and efficient use of the charging spots. Remember to check the latest rates and any updates either on the charger or through the charging app.

Charging Rates and Fees:

  • For the first four hours, the cost is 35 cents per kWh.
  • After four hours, the rate increases to $5 per hour.

Four-Hour Charging Limit:

  • Vehicles can be parked and charged for a maximum of four hours.
  • Vehicles that exceed this four-hour limit are subject to being ticketed.

Parking Permit Requirement:

  • All vehicles using the Cypress College EV chargers must have a valid Cypress College parking permit.

Do I need to register my vehicle every semester?

Yes. Student semester parking permits expire at the end of every semester.

I already registered my vehicle with CA DMV. Do I still have to register with Cypress College?

Yes. Registering your vehicle with CA DMV is not the same as registering with Cypress College.

I never got my parking permit in the mail. What can I do?

If you did not receive your permit in the mail, visit the Campus Safety Office.

Can I share my parking permit with another student?

No. Parking permits are assigned to specific vehicles.

I have a second vehicle. Can I park on campus using the same parking permit?

Yes. Just make sure that the second vehicle is also registered with Cypress College and is the only vehicle assigned to your parking permit. Permit must be displayed.

Can I park on campus for free if I am a guest or attending a special event?

No. You must purchase a day permit or have your host issue you a guest permit.

I am not a student. Do the parking regulations apply to me?

Yes. Parking regulations apply to all vehicles parked on campus parking lots and roadways.

Are the parking tickets at Cypress College “real” tickets?

Yes. Parking tickets at Cypress College are issued under the California Vehicle Code.
