On Tuesday, April 22, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., come to the Career Fair in Gateway Plaza to connect with local employers and job or internship opportunities. Plus, the first 200 students get a career swag bag.

Black Student Success Week

The A2MEND Student Charter has joined with the Legacy Program and BSU Club to invite everyone to the California Community Colleges Black Student Success Week. Daily activities include:

“The Black Hour,” daily webinars hosted from 12-1 p.m.
“The After Party,” daily small-group discussion forums from 1-2 p.m.
“The BlackOut,” a virtual advocacy day on Thursday, April 24, 2025
“The Student Hour,” daily student-centered webinars hosted from 6-7 p.m.

Tomorrow: Send Silence Packing

Send Silence Packing is an immersive experience that centers the voices of youth and young adults expressing their mental health journeys to end the silence surrounding suicide. This exhibit serves to change how we think, talk and feel about mental health and how we show up for the people around us. The event will feature:

  • Emotional Support from Mental Health Counselors
  • Community Resources
  • Kona Ice
  • Guide-Dogs-in-training for visitors to engage

VAPA Exhibits at John Wayne Airport

The Collective Self — an art and photography exhibit from Cypress College’s Visual and Performing Arts Division — is now on display at John Wayne Airport in the baggage claim area across Terminals A & B. The exhibit opened April 9, 2025. This collection features the immense talent of our students and faculty and is free and open to the public—no boarding pass needed. Enter the baggage claim area to view the exhibit. And mark your calendars for Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m. and visit the airport for a live performance of Connections by the Cypress College Dance Team and Vocal Jazz Singers.

Cypress College Pride Center Drag Show Friday

The 2nd Annual Pride Spotlight Drag Show takes place Friday. Students have participated in a series of drag workshops to find and develop their drag personas and music, and now will creatively express themselves through performance. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show in FASS lobby.

RISE Presents: Songs from the Hole

The NOCCCD RISE Youth Program will screen the documentary “Songs from the Hole” April 28, 3-6 p.m. in CCCPLX-216. The film follows a young boy, James “JJ’88” Jacobs, who took a life at age 15. Three days later, his brother’s life was taken. The film shows JJ’88’s story as an incarcerated musician struggling for healing and peace. Live performance by JJ’88 to follow. Popcorn, snacks, drinks, and Jersey Mikes will be served.

Change to Petition for Priority Registration

Priority registration requests now will be accepted only for students in an established priority group and who meet at least one of the following:

  • Have completed 100 units or more
  • Have a cumulative GPA below 2.0
  • Are enrolled in high-unit majors and are in their final semester before graduation

Qualify for priority registration? Meet with a priority group leader or a counselor to confirm your status. This leader or counselor will submit the petition on your behalf. Forms submitted directly by students will not be accepted.

Student Mandatory Sexual Violence and Harassment Training

All NOCCCD (Cypress College, Fullerton College, and NOCE) students must complete annual training on sexual violence and harassment, as required by California law (AB 2683). This short but important training helps you understand your rights, available resources, and how we can all contribute to a safe and respectful campus.
