Career Planning and Workforce Development Center Workshops and Events

Discounted Planetarium Show
Cypress College is offering a discounted Planetarium show for employees and families: Birth of Planet Earth. More presentations will open to the general public soon and at the end of this show, you can submit a brief survey (not required) to help the Planetarium organizers improve the experience for the next set of practice runs.

Fourth Annual Walk of Hope
Join the 4th annual Walk of Hope on September 24. This event is for Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness. Hosted by our Active Minds Club and the Student Health and Wellness Center, this is a powerful event dedicated to bringing our community together in support, hope, and healing. This walk is more than just a gathering; it is a chance to:
- Honor and remember those we’ve lost
- Raise awareness about suicide prevention
- Break the stigma surrounding mental health
- Encourage connection

Art of the Haitian Global South, 2025
Haitian Revolution: Art of the Haiti Global South, 2025, showcases the talent of the Haitian Diaspora, as well as aspects of Haitian history and spirituality. Images of Haiti’s independence ancestors hang alongside Haitian Realist works depicting life in Haiti, and Magic Realist visions of people living their everyday lives on the island nation surrounded by unpolluted waters, peace, and plenty.
Haitian Revolution: Art of the Haiti Global South, 2025, is part of the 8th SUR:BIENNIAL, a presentation of works by local and international artists influenced by the artistic traditions of Mexico, Central & South America, and the Caribbean.
When: Thursday, September 25, 6 – 8 p.m. Opening Reception; exhibit runs through November 13
