English/ESL Peer Tutors
English Peer Tutors serve as academic student leaders and mentors, playing a vital role in helping students implement effective study strategies, deepen their comprehension of course content, and enhance their overall academic performance by connecting with campus resources and sharing their own strategies and academic experiences.
Peer Tutors
Each Peer Tutor is assigned to one Freshman Writing class and prioritizes supporting that specific group of students and their instructor. Cypress Peer Tutors are proud to collaborate closely with each other, the Peer Tutor Coordinator, their assigned English Instructor, and the English Success Center (ESC) as well as undergo regular training to provide comprehensive support to their peers.
Our spring 2024 Peer Tutors (shown at the right) are: Sabreen, Samaira, Jamie, Darlene, Dylan, Du, Hannah, and Aminah.
