Artist Talk: Louis Pesce
The word contemplate (to gaze, reflect and consider) is based on templum (the Latin origin of temple), which means to mark out a sacred place for observation. Ancient augurs (a college of Roman priests) would consecrate a templum in a rectangular area of land and sky to observe the flight of birds and interpret auspicious omens. J. Sergio O’Cadiz Moctezuma: El Artist
O'Cadiz Moctezuma's public artworks, Chicana/o and community-based murals, and studio-based practice made important, sometimes controversial, contributions to the cultural life of Orange County for over 50-years. Organized by the NOCCCD office of Diversity and Compliance and installed in the School of Fine Arts Lobby, Hostile Terrain is a global pop-up installation and wall-map about America's humanitarian crisis at the southern border. Art Gallery: George Rodriguez
Texas-born George Rodriguez creates humorous decorative ceramic sculpture addressing his identity and community. The first in his family to finish college, he went on to receive an MFA from the University of Washington. George’s work is in the permanent collection of the National Mexican Museum of Art, Chicago and the Hallie Ford Museum, OR.
